Russell Wilson – All Alone

By: Scott Edwards Twitter - @scott_edwards18 For years, at least it feels like, the Seattle Seahawks have been powered by their stellar defense and above average offense. And while Russell Wilson has been one of the top QBs in the entire NFL for years now, it seems as though he hasn’t had to carry the burden completely ever. Yet, after an offseason that included the departures of Sherman, Chancellor, Avril, and Bennett, it all but seems that this team will run through Wilson and what he can put together game in a game out. Those four defensive leaders are now gone, and Wilson faced that possibility last season when he was tasked with half a year without Seattle’s finest. But more than ever, it feels like Wilson is simply… All Alone. Woah. On offense, it has always been felt that Russell Wilson had to make magic with minimal weapons and an offensive line made out of sticks and bones. But it was always okay because you knew the defense could keep the other team in check u

Trubisky Needs To Be Chicago's Hero

(via Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images) By Constantine Martin Twitter: @gusmartin321 The Chicago Bears have not had a winning record since 2012. The organization's last long-term quarterback was the always disappointing and seemingly uninterested Jay Cutler. The team just fired its head coach John Fox. To put it simply; the Bears are looking for a spark. They are looking for hope. The organization and Bears fans everywhere are hoping that spark plug can be 2017 second overall pick quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Chicago traded four picks to move up and select Trubisky, out of UNC, in effort to try and find a centerpiece to build around. The team initially wanted to be patient and not play him much in his rookie season, but nonetheless Trubisky was thrust into the Bears' starting job after a few games and tasked with trying to sail and sinking ship for the remainder of the year. Trubisky was not great in the 12 games he started, going 4-8 and throwing only seven t

TB12 – What does the G.O.A.T. have left in the tank?

By: Scott Edwards Twitter: scott_edwards18 It seems to be universally known now that Tom Brady is the greatest QB in the history of football. Brady has done everything one could imagine, and yet he keeps coming back for more. The reigning NFL MVP will enter his age 41 season coming off an MVP and Super Bowl loss after he threw for 505 yards and 3 TD. Yes, 500+ yards in the Super Bowl and they lost. It appears Brady continues to keep pushing forward, yet he has nothing else to possibly prove. He is the leagues oldest MVP, an award in which he has won three times, he has won five Super Bowls and has started eight, the most ever in both instances, and he simply has won the most games of all time. Tom Brady has nothing left to do in the game of football, so I ask, what does the G.O.A.T. really have left in the tank? All offseason, people began to raise questions if Tom Brady may just call it after his record-setting performance in the Super Bowl and skipping the OTAs this of

Darren Sproles' Legacy

(via phillyvoice.com) By Constantine Martin Twitter: @gusmartin321 On Sunday, 13-year-veteran running back Darren Sproles announced that the 2018 season would be his last in the NFL. The spunky 5'6" speedster has been dazzling San Diego, New Orleans and Philadelphia fans for longer than most running backs last in professional football. With his time finally coming to an end, it's important to reflect on how the smallest man on the field always seemed to play bigger than his competition. Sproles was drafted 130th overall in 2005 by the then San Diego Chargers. While he didn't see the field on offense much his rookie year, only accumulating 90 yards from scrimmage, he was immediately thrust into being the team's primary kickoff returner and rotation punt returner and gained 1,696 all purpose yards, which was a strong indication of how his career would play out. An ankle injury sidelined Sproles for the entirety of his sophomore campaign, but

Is it time to start doubting Aaron Rodgers?

By: Scott Edwards Twitter: @scott_edwards18 For years now, it as seemed that Aaron Rodgers was the most talented QB to ever enter the NFL. Everyone has looked at the QB as the guy in the NFL. Sure, Tom Brady is looked at as the greatest, but Aaron Rodgers has been recognized as the best in football by many for a few years now. However, I would like to raise the question: Should we start holding Rodgers accountable? Yes, Rodgers has more precision on his passes than possibly any QB to ever grace a football field. Yes, Rodgers has some of the best arm strength of all-time. And yes, Rodgers is one of the best to ever play the game. But Rodgers won the Super Bowl in 2010, which was his third season as a starter. Since then? He has not reached the Super Bowl a single time. Aaron Rodgers is 5-6 in the playoffs since he won the Super Bowl, including going 0-2 in Conference Championships and has two first round exits. How great is a QB who cannot get it done in the playoffs? And w

Most Valuable Quarterback

(via USA Today) By Constantine Martin Twitter: @gusmartin321 With NFL training camp fast approaching, veterans and rookies alike are getting ready to earn the favor of their respective NFL teams. Certain players, specifically high draft picks, are coming into camp with expectations and the opportunity to prove that they are ready to compete at the next level. Five quarterbacks were selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, all of who are in different stages both with the prosperity of their organizations and their on-field development.  These five potential franchise saviors are all unique, so lets look at what each of them should be looking to prove and work on in their first NFL training camp. 1. Baker Mayfield The Cleveland Browns, forever in search of a star quarterback, selected Mayfield with the first overall pick in this year's draft. Unlike in previous years though, the Browns are not placing all their hopes on one man. The team broug

Feeling Lucky – The Return of Andrew Luck

By: Scott Edwards Twitter: @scott_edwards18 On New Year’s Day 2017, Week 17 of the NFL Season, The Indianapolis Colts defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20. This game was the last game that involved Andrew Luck being the starting QB for the Colts. Since then, Luck has had no luck, as his surgically repaired throwing shoulder did not allow him to play in a single game during the 2017-18 season. Now, as Training Camp for the 2018 season approaches, there have been multiple videos and signs of Andrew Luck being close to 100% for the first time in a long time. And unfortunately, people forget what a difference maker he was at the QB position. The return of Andrew Luck means a lot of things for this NFL season. First off, the NFL gets back one of their biggest stars from injury, making football better all around. Luck is a three-time Pro Bowler who can throw for days, and also has the clutch gene that he brings to the table every game, including his 18-career game winning d

Future Faces Of The NFL

By Constantine Martin Twitter: @gusmartin321 Over the past decade, the NFL has made stars of many different players who play many different positions. The superstars of the NFL, however, have generally stayed the same, with a few new guys here and there who make a splash for a couple seasons. Generally, it is hard for a player, especially in a sport like football where the average career is only 3.3 years, to be highly productive long enough to become one of the premier cornerstones of the NFL. Special players like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Antonio Brown, Adrian Peterson and others throughout the past several seasons have reached a level of success and stardom seldom matched by even the most talented of prospects. But the NFL currently has a few young players on the rise who could be the headliners of the league for years to come, and below are my top five players most likely to become the next faces of football. 1. Carson Wentz This one should be

Jimmy G - The Next Great NFL Quarterback?

By Scott Edwards Twitter: @scottedwards18 In the middle of the 2017-18 NFL Season, the San Francisco 49ers acquired their QB of the future in Jimmy Garoppolo, trading a 2 nd -Round pick to the New England Patriots for his services. What followed was a sneak peak of what could be the return to greatness in San Francisco. Garoppolo led the 49ers to a 5-0 record in his starts after being a team that went 1-10 without him at the helm. That's quite the turn around for a team that was having such a sorry season Jimmy G showed up. So it raises the question: Is Jimmy G the next great QB in the NFL? The NFL has seen QBs come out of nowhere, top guys bust, and guys be pampered to greatness. Jimmy Garoppolo has all the characteristics to be a big-time QB in this league for the foreseeable future, but many people are wondering if he can be the real deal. Sure, he led the 49ers to a 5-0 record at the end of last season, but can he be the guy who can lead the 49ers back to the
